My time in Ottawa is rapidly coming to a close

Lately it has really become apparent to me how much I'm going to miss all the great friend's I've made here in Ottawa especially at the Rideau View College and Career group. While I'm anxious to go home and start my new job it is with mixed emotions that I leave. It's a fact of life I guess. You can't have everything just the way you would like it. The job I want is back home as are my family and old friends, but at the same time I've grown to love Ottawa and all it has to offer. I'm thankful for having had the opportunity to live here and, while it was relatively short stay, I've thoughoutly enjoyed my time and have learned a lot. The one thing I won't miss however is my job :-) No one knows what the future holds. All we can do is pray that the decisions we make are the right ones.

Only 6 days left of work!

The only right decision I can see in life is retiring. We work so we can retire, at which time I get to play golf and wear light blue pants all the time. Wahooo! Ok, there may be other right decisions in there but that's the one I am actually waiting for.

Oh yeah, hey...this is Graeme...as you can see.

Where you going to work back home?

Interesting view on life. But I think before you can retire you need to have some funds built up, or else win the lottery. So, that being said, I figure it's best that we find something that we actually enjoy doing. After all, we spend 40+ hours a week working so we might as well be spending that time doing something we like. By the way nice pic :-)

My view is different because I just don't want to work anymore. I want to play golf and soccer and travel. That's it.

Oh, and wear kilts...apparently. Maybe I can mix the kilts and golf.

Hummm, well you could just quit your job but then the money issue becomes a problem. It's quite a dilemma. My suggestion is to leave your job, move into the wilderness and live off the land. You could build a golf course and catch your own food and taxes wouldn't be an issue. It might be tough though getting people to come visit you so you might have to resign yourself to a life in solitude. But hey, you’d be a great golfer after a few years!

I'll consider that one. I'm gonna work for a while and save up...then run away and do the golf course thing. There are tons of them around here, so maybe I can just get a job as a greenskeeper at one so I can play golf all day and just live off my savings and the measly greenskeeper pay. Makes me think of Caddyshack. Whoooooopeee.

Sounds like a plan! That should definately be a career choice that counsellors in High School recommend :-)

I think I have already outdone most of the people we went to high school with...so it's time to just give up while I'm ahead.

*I just displayed another great attitude. haha. :P
